Opportunity Program
We are proud to announce that we have partnered with Opportunity Schools and are now offering The Opportunity Program Model© to help our students with learning challenges unlock their hidden potential and achieve academic success. While we already have most of the spots filled, we do have a few spots still available.
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM MODEL©?
Opportunity Schools is recognized as the leader in private school education for students with learning challenges. Opportunity Schools provides professional training, consultation, and on-site support for the implementation of The Opportunity Program Model©.
Students with learning challenges or disabilities often experience frustration and failure with traditional classroom instruction. The Opportunity Program provides these students with research-based, multi-sensory instruction in a supportive environment. The Opportunity Program emphasizes a student’s natural strengths and abilities while addressing areas of academic deficit.
We have been blessed with a teacher who has both the passion and skills to run the Opportunity Program on our campus. Mr. Mark Vest has 17 years of teaching experience in the public school system, 12 of which are in special education. Mark graduated from Cal Poly Pomona and has teaching credentials in Special Education, Multiple Subject and Single Subject (Physical Education). Mark is happily married and has two wonderful children.
The Opportunity Program is a pull-out program that provides Language Arts and Mathematics instruction in small groups 5 days a week. In addition, Opportunity students receive general education support from the Opportunity staff that may include pre-teaching, skill and concept reinforcement, and an appropriate accommodation plan.
The cost of Opportunity Program per child is $150.00 dollars per month which provides 5 days of service per week.
The Opportunity Program Model© works. Many students at other private schools have significantly improved their academic abilities and have experienced success in elementary, middle, high school and college. Parent evaluations indicate that The Opportunity Program Model© helped improve their children’s confidence in learning and is a fun and safe place to learn.
WHO ARE OPPORTUNITYSTUDENTS?
An Opportunity student is one who is enrolled in a classbut due to a learning challenge needs additional instruction and support to achieve success. This includes students with visual or auditory processing deficits, dyslexia, specific language disabilities, ADHD, High-Functioning Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome, or students who have just fallen behind and need intensive help to catch up.
If you would like to apply or learn more, please do not hesitate to contact Mark Vest at mvest@ccschool.org.
