September

LOVE

– John 15:2 “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”

Love is meeting another’s need unselfishly. Love is a verb.

October

JOY

- Psalm 35:9 “Then my soul will rejoice in the Lord and delight in His salvation.”

Joyfulness is being happy inside and out!

November

PEACE

– Proverbs 3:17 “[Their] ways are pleasant ways, and all of [their] paths are peace.”

Peace is having a calm and quiet spirit… even in tough situations.

December

PATIENCE

– James 5:8 “You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.”

Patience is waiting with a happy spirit.

January

KINDNESS

– Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

Kindness is being strong enough to feel the joys and hurts of others.

February

GOODNESS

– II Peter 1:5 “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness…”

Goodness is trying to make the right choice with your family, teachers, and friends.

March

FAITHFULNESS

– Proverbs 28:20 “A faithful man will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.”

Faithfulness is being consistently loyal to the Lord and to others.

April

GENTLENESS

– I Peter 3:15 “But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect…”

Gentleness is having a tender and soothing spirit.

May

SELF-CONTROL

– Titus 2:12 “[The grace of God] teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,”

Self control is having the strength to stop myself when I want to do something wrong.
