The Art of Elevation

We have been given the wonderful ability to glorify God though artistic expression in our Elevation services.  From large scale stage art to small, quiet and prayerful response times, the Lord has allowed us to creatively express our love for Him in so many amazing ways in our services.

Here are a few of the many Artistic Expressions that have been created so far.

Corrupt Priest - Malachi 2:1-9

The book of Malachi gives examples of both priests who conducted themselves as a way that was pleasing to God, and those whose actions despised and disgusted the Lord.

This artistic expression, created in Elevation during the message, portrayed a corrupt priest and represented God's response to them, as found in Malachi 2:3.

It is just as important today for us to grow and mature, and not let the customs of our own community keep us from presenting the very best to God in worship. To hear this sermon online, click here and select 01.22.06.

The Bloodpath - Malachi 2:10-16

Throughout Malachi 2:10-16, God mentions the word covenant several times.  A covenant was a symbolic way God demonstrated His relationship with us.   Often a covenant involved the severing in two of sacrificed animals and walking the bloodpath in between, (Hebrews 9:13-14). This walk through the bloodpath represented the Life and Death seriousness of that relationship.

After the message, people were challenged to walk the bloodpath and reflect on their own covenants and relationships.  To hear this sermon online, click here and select 01.29.06.

Prayer Maps - Missions Conference 2006

Calvary Church supports over 86 Missionary families.  During the response time people were asked to dip their hand in paint and place it on one of the seven maps, representing the areas of the world where Calvary Missionaries are currently serving.

As they placed their hand on the map, people prayed for the missionaries in that area, and committed to continue holding those missionaries up in prayer.  To hear this sermon online, click here and select the Mission Conference 2006 sermon for 3.12.06.  To learn more about Missions at Calvary, click here.
