John & Kathie Watters
Synopsis Of Ministry
John serves as President of SIL International, the major
partner organization of Wycliffe Bible Translators. He
also serves as the Chairman of the International Forum
of Bible Agencies, an association of about 20 different
organizations. Those agencies involved in Scripture
translation account for over 90% of the current
languages translation projects. The other organizations
focus on helping people engage with the Scriptures
through print, audio, video, and internet. Kathie
coordinates the Kande’s Story Project that focuses on
HIV and AIDS prevention and education for the church
in minority language communities, mostly in
Africa. Kathie also serves in SIL’s Academic Training
Department, gathering information on training programs
worldwide that SIL and its partners offer.
