Support Groups

A Support Group is an Open Ended, Felt Need Based group of like minded people who are all experiencing a similar life struggle.

The purpose of a support group is to receive Support, Prayer, Encouragement and Accountability in a safe, confidential, Christ-centered, biblically based environment.

All of our groups have a trained facilitator equipped to lead with a passion for helping people.

Divine Choices

Divine Choices offers a 16-week healing program for Sexual Abuse survivors called ‘Breaking the Silence’ utilizing scripture as the basis of healing, self-discovery and trauma recovery. Each person that joins the group is prescreened for their readiness to join a strong working and active group. This program will give each participant a richer understanding of the healing and restoration God has in store for them and a greater understanding of the past. Each group member is required to make a committment to themselves and the group for the duration of the 16 weeks.

This group meets one night a week at 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM. The group maximum is 8 people. Anyone interested should contact us for a preliminary meeting. Location and day to be determined.

Please call toll free (800) 627-4955 or email info@divinechoices.org. We are excited about the victory and freedom that God has in store for you. Find out more at www.divinechoices.org

Chronic Pain / Illness Support Group

Those of us living with physical pain or illness face special difficulty being understood by people in our lives who cannot comprehend what this is like. In a support group, though each individual situation is unique, we also have much in common. As believers, we each depend on God’s strength to carry us through. Together we can share our feelings and experiences, what has or has not helped us, and offer one another encouragement and healing prayer.

This group starts in September. Please contact me and be sure to mention your preference for place and time to meet plus any special health or child care considerations that may constrain us. We might meet in a room at Calvary or in a private home. Likely it will be a weekday evening. Please also mention if you have suitable space in your home to host us, or if you are able and willing to co-lead.

Anger Support Group

Participants in this group will gain an indepth insight into how life’s events trigger the emotions and how and why we react to these events in the way we do. Participants will experience greater self esteem, an enhanced ability to engage in interpersonal relationships, and higher levels of spiritual confidence in their daily life.

Interested parties are encouraged to sign up immediately as seating is limited. The group will be open to new members for the first two weeks but will then be closed until the next session begins in about eight weeks. There is no fee. Everyone is welcome. Individuals interested in becoming a small group leader are encouraged to attend as well. To sign up or for more information call (949) 289-8981 or e-mail Jerry Bennett at Gerald.bennett1@ca.rr.com.

The Anger Support Group meets weekly for eight consecutive sessions on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. in Northside Class room #3 on the church campus.

This group provides a safe, supportive setting for anyone who wants to understand, in light of God’s word, what lies beneath our reactions to events that trigger our emotions, including anger, wrath and rage. The group’s focus is on enabling each individual to enjoy a richer, more joyful and confident life in Christ by understanding their emotional condition and by preparing their heart and mind to receive healing through the Holy Spirit.
