Support Group Leaders

Have you endured a struggle and experienced God’s healing and hope?

Do you have a desire to offer that same hope and healing to others who have experienced a similar struggle?

Calvary currently has several support groups to help people through times of trial and difficulties in life. Below, you will see a list of current groups as well as groups we are hoping to begin soon if leadership is found to help oversee them. Below are opportunities to come learn more and become equipped to help others.

Cancer Support Group

We have a one on one cancer support ministry. One of our trained people is assigned to a cancer patient to walk with and support through their cancer journey. If you want help, call Adam Paff at 714 639-4104 or Dennis Swick at 714 280-4750 or Pastor Fred Morse at 714 973-4800 ext 367.

 

Widows Support Ministry

Called "God's Chosen Women" We meet once a month in homes for muitual encouragement, prayer and spiritual guidance. To become involved call Phyllis Phaneuf at 714 538-2126

 

Single Moms' Fellowship

Single Mom's Fellowship is for single moms of all ages. Come and connect on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM in W218. Child care is available! Contact: Reyna Bowman at 997-7369 for more information.

 

CrossCurrent

CrossCurrent is an open, 8-week, Christ-centered group for men & women seeking hope and God’s perspective on sexuality and relationships. It provides a safe, confidential setting for men & women to worship, learn, and share honestly in small groups. CrossCurrent was developed by Desert Streams Ministries, a ministry that proclaims the life-transforming power of Jesus Christ to people struggling under the weight of sexual and relational brokenness.

Who is CrossCurrent for?
CrossCurrent applies to everyone, but is particularly relevant to those struggling with Same Sex Attraction, Sexual Promiscuity or Addiction, the effects of Sexual Abuse, Co-Dependency, Self-Hatred, or the inability to love others well.

Thankfully, Christ’s capacity to touch and restore us at deep levels of shame and brokenness extends to all of us, regardless of the specifics of our issue.

The Teachings of CrossCurrent:
Week 1 - God’s Unfailing Love
Week 2 – Jesus and the Real Self
Week 3 – Getting Saved
Week 4 – The Cross and Confession
Week 5 – How Jesus on the Cross Bears Our Wounds
Week 6 – Becoming Secure in the Father’s Love
Week 7 – Loving Others
Week 8 – Beyond Brokenness

CrossCurrent is an open group meeting that meets 8 weeks for two hours.  A typical meeting starts at 7:00PM and would like the following:
7:00 - 7:20:       Opening prayer and worship
7:20 – 7:25:       Announcements and Introductions
7:25 – 7:55:       Teaching
7:55 – 8:00:       Break
8:00 – 9:00:       Small groups
