Dear Church Family,

Our Church campus is a lot quieter this week than last week when VBS was in full swing. We miss all the kids and volunteers around here! I want to give a huge shout out to our Family Team (Shannon, Rebecca, Danika, Crystal, Paula, Christian, Josh) and the 435 adult and teen volunteers who served with such joy and humility. Here are 5 Important Things Happening at Calvary Church:

#1 – Moran Rosenblit is sharing Tonight at 6:00pm about life and work in Jerusalem, Israel

All are invited today (Thursday 8/4) at 6:00pm to the Fireside Room here at Calvary Church to hear stories and updates from our Calvary ministry partner, Moran Rosenblit. Moran is a master storyteller and will inspire you with stories of what God is doing in Israel.

#2 – Pray for our Hispanic Ministry at Family Camp this Weekend

Our Hispanic Ministry is taking 160 men, women and kids up to the San Bernardino Mountains to San Gorgonio Campground with a special guest speaker from Mexico, Pastor Josue Carreno and his wife Alejandra. Pray for the Carreno’s, Pastor Armando Reyes and all the families going up the mountain this weekend. God always does special and life transforming work at camp! Also pray for Pastor Victor Millan, who will be leading our Hispanic service for those who need to stay back this Sunday at 11:00am.

#3 – Josh Wathen is speaking on Proverbs 3:5-6 this Sunday at 9:00am!

This weekend, we have another great opportunity to gather together and continue our Proverbs “Way of Wisdom” series as our worship leader, Pastor Josh Wathen, will put his guitar down and share with us an important message on "Trust" from Proverbs 3:5-6. Come expectant to be challenged and encouraged as Josh shares some of his own story and insights from God's Word.

#4 – Next Wednesday is 8/10 Day, Our New Calvary Holiday!

If you remember from our “God Joy” series this past Spring, we talked about Nehemiah 8:10, “And Nehemiah continued, 'Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!'” If you recall, Pastor Eric Wakeling declared August 10th (8/10) be a new holiday for us here at Calvary, where we throw a God-Joy party! This party involves preparing a fun meal, inviting others over to read some Bible passages together and tell stories of God’s grace in our lives.
