Looking Forward to Celebrating Together

12/20/19 | The Weekly | by Eric Wakeling

    Dear Calvary Family,

I really do love the joy of Christmas. All the trappings bring a deep sense of gladness in our hearts. I love how we establish traditions in our families and in our church around the time of Christmas more than any other. We have new traditions at Calvary like the Christmas Tree Lighting and snow falling at the end of the Christmas Eve service.

But, the classic tradition of lighting candles while singing Silent Night at our Candlelight Services is one of my all-time favorites. My heart is warmed watching each candle flicker into flame, illuminating the room with hundreds of representations of Jesus Christ—the Light of the World.

Plus, it's just fun to play with fire in church, especially for the kids!

So please, come join us and invite all your family and friends to one of our Candlelight Services this week. And, help us keep an eye on the kids that are a little too excited to play with fire in church. Maybe somebody should keep an eye on me on stage.

We have two identical services this year in the Worship Center on Monday, December 23rd at 7:00pm and Tuesday, December 24th at 4:00pm. I hope to see you there as we share in a joyful and meaningful celebration this Christmas at Calvary Church.
