Update from Pastor Matt

In a Covid-19 World, God Loves the Nations and Neighborhoods

"Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers’ hands?” And he said, “The one who showed mercy toward him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do the same.” Luke 10:36-37

    Hello Calvary Family!

    “…Go and do the same.”

Our emphasis as a church over the past year has been on “Each One, Reach One” by Easter 2020. Little did we know when we cast this vision how our world would change heading into this Easter!

As Christ’ ambassador’s (2 Corinthians 5:20), we are called to display and demonstrate God’s amazing love to our hurting, fearful and uncertain world. As Jesus challenges us in Luke 10, “to go and do the same,” caring for our neighbor, whether they reside with us in our home, live next door or across the globe, or on our computer screens! God sovereignly places who He wants us to reach and puts them in our path.

This Sunday, we will be reminded in a Covid-19 World, God Loves the Nations and Neighborhoods

In our Live Stream service this Sunday at 9:30am, we will hear first person accounts from several of our missionaries around the world about how they are demonstrating God’s love to their neighbors in our current Covid-19 world. We will also get to listen in on an inspiring interview between Pastor Eric Wakeling and the President of Greater Europe Mission, Jon Burns. And, we will read and walk through the story of the Good Samaritan as found in Luke 10:25-37.

Being a good neighbor starts with prayer…

Over the last year, we have been praying as a church at 10:02 each day for “For more workers in the harvest…” (Luke 10:2). Join us next Tuesday, March 31 for an important day of prayer, as we set aside time from 9am to 9pm to pray for our neighbors and nations in this Covid-19 world.  Throughout the day next Tuesday (9am, 10:02am, Noon, 3:00pm, 7:00pm, 8:45pm) our church staff will be jumping on Facebook Live on our Calvary Church page to pray for our world and each other. We also want to ask you to sign up to privately pray in a 15 minute time slot of your choosing as we as a Church family cover the entire day in prayer.
