of Calvary Church on a weekly basis to experience
community, spiritual growth and missional living.
Every week we add new people to our movement,

SUMMER 2010
Summer in the Backyard @ the Doan's
Beginning Tuesday Night June 22nd

In this past year, my wife, Marie and I have been so moved by a series of marriage and relationship sermons on Ephesians 5 by a Pastor from New York named Tim Keller. Some say Keller is the "CS Lewis" of our generation. As we have been praying and seeking the Lord for how God wants to move in our Young Adult group this summer, we both felt a tremendous amount of excitement to open our home and invite you to join us in doing 2 simple yet powerful things.
#1 - Worship our God through Music
#2 - Take Tim Keller's Ephesians 5 study on Marriage and Relationships and customize it (Matt Doan will teach) to speak personally and directly to anyone in their 20's from Calvary Church who is single, dating, engaged or married. Don't worry, this won't be some sappy love and dating series! This study will remind you and show you how amazing God is, and how He has designed the marriage relationship model to ultimately show us how He wants to relate to you and I.
So this is what we are going to do this summer on Tuesday evenings. Worship and study Ephesians 5 together. No fluff, No awkward games, just a time for all of us to get focused and let God transform us.
Young Adult Summer Small Groups
Begin Thursday, June 17th
Guys Summer Small Group every Thursday throughout the summer at 7am at Knowlwood's on 17th St/Tustin Ave (2107 East 17th St.).
Girls Summer Small Group every Thursday throughout the summer at 7pm on the back porch of the Reese Home (13562 Eton Place, Santa Ana, Ca 92705).
Bonfire @ Corona Del Mar State Beach
Tuesday, July 27th and Tuesday, August 31st
We will take 2 breaks from our Summer backyard study to gather together down at C.D.M. State Beach for a evening of worship around the bonfire. Both of these nights will begin at 7pm and end with the closing of the beach at 10pm. We will also have a short devotional and desserts/S'mores. Bring a beach chair and look for the Blue EZ-up with Calvary Signage on the beach.
Motel Ministry + Opportunities to Serve
(Sat, June 12, Sat, July 17, Sat, August 14)
We have an amazing opportunity this summer to pass out 50 free boxes of food each month to the residents of a transitional motel a mile from Calvary Church. We will pass out food boxes, wash windows and simply show God's love to the men, women and children who live at the Sunland Motel. We will meet directly at the motel this Saturday, June 12th, Saturday, July 17th and Saturday, August 14th at 10am and be there until about Noon. Sunday Mornings
10:45 am in the Worship Center
- Our Elevation service begins at 10:45 am and features passionate music in a modern style with biblical teaching by a team of pastors.
