Giving Updates
Year-End Update from Pastor Dave
Dear Calvary Family,
I hope you had a great Christmas and are looking forward to a good year in 2010.
If your mail is like mine, you are receiving many year end requests for funds. I appreciate the many fine organizations God is using for His purposes. However, please continue to pray for our year end giving.
I have always firmly believed in the Bible that the local church is the primary ministry to support for the Lord’s evangelism and discipleship. We are available to care for and minister to you and all in our community 24 hours a day and you can have a regular, local connection with all of us in leadership. I think that makes us unique from the many other fine ministries.
As of December 29, our financial goal is at $254,000 for the general fund and $84,000 for missions. If you are still able to support us, please bring your offerings to the front office by December 31. If the office is closed, you may drop it in the mail slot in the school’s door, which is just to the right of the office door off Tustin Avenue.
Perhaps the easiest and newest way to support the Lord’s work at Calvary is online, where you can set up reoccurring or one time donations. Learn more about online giving.
I know many of you have been faithful all year and I thank you for your gracious gifts and service for our Lord.
I remember the generosity in King David’s time as a great example for us. “Whoever possessed precious stones gave them to the treasury of the house of the Lord, in care of Jehiel the Gershonite. Then the people rejoiced because they had offered so willingly, for they made their offering to the Lord with a whole heart, and King David also rejoiced greatly.” I Chronicles 29:8, 9.
May we all rejoice as we each give “willingly” and with a “whole heart” to our Lord.
God bless,
Pastor Dave

Campus Planning & development Update
As we think about how Calvary's walls support the exciting ministry that is happening, we continue to plan for future campus development and renewal to further our ministry opportunities.
We are currently entering a master plan review process with the City of Santa Ana where they will give us feedback on ideas generated by our ministry areas, building committee and church leadership in conjunction with our architects. Once our Master Plan is reviewed by the city, we will communicate to you the future direction we would like to pursue as we enhance Calvary Church’s ministry opportunities through facility plans.
In the meantime we ask that you would pray for those in leadership to have wisdom, understanding from the city and continue to give above and beyond to our Building Fund to pay for these planning expenses. We are so appreciative that the city is allowing us to undergo a Master Plan review zoning change instead of just getting a building permit for our next project. This process can codify our plans, allowing future generations of Calvary members to go through a less expensive and extensive permit process.
