Experiential Learning
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Students in K-8 participate in 3-4 field trips during the school year. These experiences include the cultural arts, historical and science-oriented programs creating lasting memories for CCS students. In addition, overnight trips take place in the upper grades as they offer an educational, inspirational, and hands-on approach to learning.
Overnight Trips
4th Grade – Sacramento
In fourth grade, our Sacramento trip is the highlight of the year. History lessons come alive as we explore gold mines, visit the Capitol building, and enjoy many activities on our guided tour. The cost of the two day trip, which normally occurs in the Spring, is approximately $500/person. Specific information is available in September.
6th Grade – Outdoor Science Camp
As part of our 6th grade science curriculum, students have the privilege to attend a week of hands-on learning at Palomar Christian Conference Center in October. The trip costs approximately $350/person. Students will enjoy exploring God’s creation through hiking, horseback riding, team building games and much more!
8th Grade – Washington D.C. Trip
Our 8th grade students conclude their year of study in American History with an 8-10 day trip to Washington, D.C., Gettysburg, Jamestown, Williamsburg and New York. This trip usually takes place in March and the cost is approximately $3,000/person.
