A Prayer & An Invitation

9/25/25 | The Weekly | by Eric Wakeling

    Dear Calvary Family,

I have two massively important things for you to be praying about and considering your own response to this invitation.

The first is the Alpha Course! Our next session of the Alpha Course starts on Wednesday, October 1. I can’t stress enough how excellent, applicable, and safe the Alpha Course is for your friends who are spiritually seeking. They can ask any question, make any awkward or seemingly rude comment, or just sit quietly and listen. They will not be judged. They will not be made to feel impolite. They will be loved and welcomed as we process through questions like: What is my purpose? Who is Jesus? Why did he die? How can I have faith? How do I pray? What is the meaning of life?

So please invite someone and attend with them as we think, chat, eat, laugh, connect, explore and question. Wednesdays at 7:00pm in Fellowship Hall starting on October 1. Includes a meal and is completely free!

The second is our Seeking Refuge Prayer Night on Monday, September 29 in the Worship Center Lobby. Join us for dinner at 6:00pm, followed by worship, prayer, and encouragement at 7:00pm. This month’s theme is “The Power of Presence” (1 Thess. 2:8). Our guest speaker, an Iraqi believer, will share how God has worked through simple, faithful presence to impact lives. Afterward, we’ll have time for reflection, prayer at interactive stations, and space to seek God together on behalf of the refugee families in our community.

Please be praying for both of these wonderful opportunities for the movement of the Gospel both locally and around the world. And join us if you are able! You will be blessed and the world will be blessed through you.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
    Eric Wakeling
