"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

Calvary Church endeavors to be a people who connect with God and each other through prayer. Below are opportunities to share your prayer requests, gather to pray with others, and ways to pray on mission each day.

Day of Prayer   Live Prayer Chat   Share Requests   10:02 Prayer

Tuesday, March 31

Join us in praying and fasting for our nations and neighborhoods on Tuesday, March 31.

Throughout history, God's people have prayed and fasted when faced with difficult circumstances. In this historical Covid-19 moment of such uncertainty, we feel called as a church to set aside Tuesday, March 31 from 9:00am to 9:00pm, to pray and fast and ask God for healing, protection and wisdom for our nations and neighborhoods. We invite you to fast for the day (from a meal or media) and pray with us by signing up here.

Throughout the day, we will be hosting live moments of prayer led by our Calvary pastors for you to join in with as well at 9:00am, 10:02am, Noon, 7:00pm and 8:45pm. Connect with us on Facebook.

Let's come together as a united church family and let's live out the words of the apostle Paul in Romans 12:12, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."

Live Prayer Chat

Tuesdays 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Join us for a Facebook live stream chat hosted by Pastor Matt Doan to connect with God in a time of adoration and supplication, praying for your requests and the needs of our neighborhoods and the nations.

"Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:14-16‬ ‭(NASB‬‬)

The author of Hebrews reminds us that we can draw near with confidence to Jesus’ throne and find grace in our time of need!

Praying on Mission

Here are two prayers I ask you to commit to as part of our ongoing pursuit for each one at Calvary to reach one person they know with the good news of Jesus:

10:02 PRAYER

Get your phone out and set an alarm for 10:02. Then pray Luke 10:2 where Jesus said, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Let's all ask God to send workers from Calvary to share the gospel and reap the harvest that He has prepared. We can also pray for our global missionaries and even for the organization Greater Europe Mission (since this is where I got the idea).

As you pray at 10:02, also ask God to give you Courage, Heart, Opportunities, and Words to Say. We need boldness, love, chances to share and then the right words to say as we follow the Spirit’s leading.

Please commit to pray these prayers EVERY DAY with me at 10:02 am. Our staff and elders are already doing this. I would love to hear a host of alarms going off all around our community every day because we are all committed to this. God hears our prayers and will answer them as we cry out to Him with all our hearts.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
Eric Wakeling
Senior Pastor

“May Your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord,
even as we put our hope in You.”
Psalm 33:22
