"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

Calvary Church endeavors to be a people who connect with God and each other through prayer. Below are opportunities to share your prayer requests, gather to pray with others, and ways to pray on mission each day.

Live Prayer Chat   Share Requests  COVID-19 HELP   10:02 Prayer

May 4-8, 2020

The arrival of COVID-19 has propelled us into an unprecedented season of anxiety, uncertainty and isolation. But this is a time for the Church to rise together as those who place our hope in God, and our future in His hands.

Calvary Church is so excited to partner with many Orange County churches and non-profits partners for something called Seek Week. May 4th - 8th will be a time where the larger Body of Christ is crying out to God and expressing our dependence on Him. This will include virtual prayer gatherings, 24/7 prayer and other prayer opportunities.

This plays out in 3 key ways

Regional Nightly Gatherings

7-7:30pm – Songs, stories, prayers and encouragement showcasing ways God is uniquely at work in the churches and cities of each region. 7:30-8:30pm – Interactive prayer Zoom led by regional pastors covering needs and opportunities in this critical season.

Morning and Midday Prayer Rooms

Twice a day, 8am and 12pm, virtual rooms will be open for guided moments of prayer.  This will be a space to bring any request to the table. Be connected with others across the County in shared seeking and expectancy.

24/7 Prayer

Seek Week will invite thousands to join 120 hours of unbroken intercession through the 24/7 prayer chain.  Sign up for one or multiple hours – whether middle of the day of middle of the night – to be directed in an intimate, centering prayer experience that will cover specific challenges and opportunities that have surfaced through COVID-19.

Live Prayer Chat

Tuesdays 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Join us for a Facebook live stream chat hosted by Pastor Matt Doan to connect with God in a time of adoration and supplication, praying for your requests and the needs of our neighborhoods and the nations.

"Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:14-16‬ ‭(NASB‬‬)

The author of Hebrews reminds us that we can draw near with confidence to Jesus’ throne and find grace in our time of need!

You can also fill out "The Card" (located in the seat racks in the Worship Center) to submit your requests on Sunday morning services so that we can join with you in lifting your prayer needs before the Lord.

"Praying For Our Calvary Family" is a publication designed to encourage our staff and elders to pray for specific needs. If you would like to receive this list of prayer requests, please email us at

Praying on Mission

Here are two prayers I ask you to commit to as part of our ongoing pursuit for each one at Calvary to reach one person they know with the good news of Jesus:

10:02 PRAYER

Get your phone out and set an alarm for 10:02. Then pray Luke 10:2 where Jesus said, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Let's all ask God to send workers from Calvary to share the gospel and reap the harvest that He has prepared. We can also pray for our global missionaries and even for the organization Greater Europe Mission (since this is where I got the idea).

As you pray at 10:02, also ask God to give you Courage, Heart, Opportunities, and Words to Say. We need boldness, love, chances to share and then the right words to say as we follow the Spirit’s leading.

Please commit to pray these prayers EVERY DAY with me at 10:02 am. Our staff and elders are already doing this. I would love to hear a host of alarms going off all around our community every day because we are all committed to this. God hears our prayers and will answer them as we cry out to Him with all our hearts.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
Eric Wakeling
Senior Pastor

“May Your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord,
even as we put our hope in You.”
Psalm 33:22
