"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

Calvary Church endeavors to be a people who connect with God and each other through prayer. Below are opportunities to share your prayer requests, gather to pray with others, and ways to pray on mission each day.

Back to Back Nights of County-Wide Prayer

As the November election quickly approaches, and uncertainties continue to rise, we are embracing another chance to contend in prayer together. Regardless of political outcomes, it is critical that our divided, disoriented world sees a united, dependent Church.

Our next Seek Week Reunion will gather churches throughout our county once again in prayers of hopeful perseverance – anchored in the call of Philippians.

Written two thousand years ago, the message of Philippians is incredibly relevant for the cultural moment we are living in and leading through together. This letter, authored in forced isolation by the Apostle Paul, has served to call every generation of Jesus followers to other-centered humility, trust in all circumstances, and contending together as one for the sake of the Gospel.

With help from pastors across OC, we are excited to lay claim to the encouragement offered in Philippians – not only for our lives, but for the cities and churches of our county.

And, there will be an opportunity for individuals to take part in a 24-hour prayer chain that will allow for unbroken intercession to connect and cover these gatherings.

Join with us for back-to-back nights of interactive, online gatherings. Together we will bridge dividing lines as “citizens of heaven” who are declaring our dependence on Christ our King.

Praying on Mission

Here are two prayers I ask you to commit to as part of our ongoing pursuit for each one at Calvary to reach one person they know with the good news of Jesus:

10:02 PRAYER

Get your phone out and set an alarm for 10:02. Then pray Luke 10:2 where Jesus said, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Let's all ask God to send workers from Calvary to share the gospel and reap the harvest that He has prepared. We can also pray for our global missionaries and even for the organization Greater Europe Mission (since this is where I got the idea).

As you pray at 10:02, also ask God to give you Courage, Heart, Opportunities, and Words to Say. We need boldness, love, chances to share and then the right words to say as we follow the Spirit’s leading.

Please commit to pray these prayers EVERY DAY with me at 10:02 am. Our staff and elders are already doing this. I would love to hear a host of alarms going off all around our community every day because we are all committed to this. God hears our prayers and will answer them as we cry out to Him with all our hearts.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
Eric Wakeling
Senior Pastor

“May Your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord,
even as we put our hope in You.”
