Dear Calvary Family,

I hope our recent teachings in our Sunday morning summer series on dependence and discipleship have been helpful for you and have impacted your thinking about what it looks like to follow Jesus with all your heart.

We truly believe, based on the truths God has given us in Scripture, that we must rely on the Holy Spirit to become disciples and to make new followers of Jesus as he has commanded us to do. I encourage you to pray and reflect on these things as you pursue God's ongoing work in your life, renewing your mind and transforming your heart.

I invite you to join us this Sunday evening, August 24, as we practice trusting the Spirit with an all-church PRAYER NIGHT at 6:00pm in Fellowship Hall. Let's come together to listen for God's voice, seeking his guidance and provision to bless our families, our church, our community, and the world.

We will also have a CONNECT FAIR this Sunday morning in the Lobby folllowing the 9:00am service, where you can find LifeGroups or Serving Teams to join as ways to connect with others and grow in your faith together as disciples.

My wife, Bea, and I are excited to start a new group together for this fall based on Jim Burns’ book, Doing Life with Your Adult Children at 11:00am on Sundays.
