Easter at Calvary was Amazing! - What's Next?
Weekly email - April 23, 2025
Praise God for an amazing Easter celebration here at Calvary Church! It was morning full of so much joy in worshiping, hearing the Good News of the resurrection, and seeing the kids hunt for eggs. Over the past couple of months, we encouraged you all to invite your friends and you did! It was incredible to see so many new and familiar faces on Sunday and throughout the week. As always, my favorite part was the baptisms and the people sharing how Christ has transformed their lives.
Here’s the big reminder for tonight! THE ALPHA COURSE. This is the best next step for all your friends, neighbors, and co-workers that came on Easter Sunday. They heard the Good News on Sunday and experienced all of the hope and victory we have in Jesus Christ. Now, the Alpha Course is the perfect chance to process through their questions and doubts, to meet some new friends around the table, and to keep their search for Jesus moving forward. The Alpha Course meets at 7:00pm in Fellowship Hall. There are programs for kids and students of all ages happening at the same time tonight, including the Alpha Course for Middle School. Find out more at CalvaryLife.org/Midweek.
I’m looking forward to this Sunday as we continue our series on KINGDOM STORIES, exploring the parables Jesus told and what they reveal about the Kingdom of God. We’ll be in Luke 18:1-8 and the Parable of the Persistent Widow. It begins with, “One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.” Come hear more about this story and what it shows us about prayer as followers of Jesus.
Finally, I want to point out that on Sunday, May 4th we will take a few minutes in the service to have our ANNUAL MEETING as a church (English/ASL at 9:00am in the Worship Center & Spanish at 11:00am in the Chapel). During this time, we will share important updates and vote on affirming our new elders. Healthy and godly leadership is vital in any church – and I would ask you to pray for wisdom, integrity, and a connectedness to the Holy Spirit for the current and potential new elders of Calvary Church. You can read about them at CalvaryLife.org/Leaders.
Also, the actual voting is only for official members of Calvary Church. You can explore how to become a member at CalvaryLife.org/Membership. It’s a truly wonderful and enriching process built around connecting with others on a discipleship journey of spiritual growth in community.
May the Lord bless you and keep you,
