Let's Pray - Calvary Prayer Night & 21-Day Challenge

7/9/25 | The Weekly | by Eric Wakeling

    Dear Calvary Family,

We have been talking a lot about our dependence on God in recent weeks here at Calvary. We trust in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit for everything in our daily lives. We rely on the power of the death and resurrection of Jesus for our eternal salvation. We truly depend on God.

We need guidance and provision from God to know what choices to make and to even take our next breath in this life. Prayer is the way we live out this trust and dependence.

Psalm 24:4-5 says, “Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.”

We will put these words into practice tomorrow at our Calvary Prayer Night - Thursday, July 10th at 7:00pm in Fellowship Hall at Calvary Church. We will pray together and on our own. We will speak prayers out loud and listen silently to the voice of God. We will seek out God’s guidance and provision for our personal lives and for our church. So please join us on Thursday as we practice our dependence.

I also wanted to remind you to be praying three times a day for this 21-Day Challenge that I brought to you on Sunday morning. You can pray without the app, but I encourage you to try using the Lectio 365 App that gives you some devotional and prayer prompts for morning, midday and evening. You can even have it send you reminders - which have been super helpful for me.

Let’s keep trusting in the Spirit and see how God continues to lead us toward the mission He has for each of us and for Calvary Church.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
    Eric Wakeling
