Dear Calvary Family,

First of all, I wanted to let you know the results of the Elder Affirmation Vote from our Annual Business Meeting we had last Sunday. All three of our potential elders were overwhelmingly approved by your vote. Marcelino Rios was affirmed to renew for his second three-year term. Both Rick Bergstrom and Curtis Yates were affirmed for their first term. Thank you so much for your prayerful voting as members of Calvary Church. Please keep praying for all of our church leadership to be faithful to the Lord, to serve with integrity and wisdom, to love God first and foremost, and to be attentive to the Spirit’s leading for our church.

This is a good time to highlight our new Membership process called the Life with Jesus Discipleship and Membership Course. I love this process because it’s so in line with our focus on discipleship - learning to love and follow Jesus by giving away what we’ve received. This process includes three conversations with a pastor in a group of 3 or 4 people about both what it means to follow Jesus and what it looks like to be an active member of a local church body. It’s a wonderful way to grow in the content but also to connect with a pastor and other people in our church while processing through questions about life and church involvement. Then you have a conversation with one of our elders about your salvation story and where you can best connect here at Calvary.

I just went through leading my first group and it was literally amazing! We had so much fun getting to know each other and had some deep conversations about faith and life with Jesus. I’d love for you to take part in this, even if you’ve been a member for a long time.
