Please Keep Praying

2/11/21 | The Weekly | by Eric Wakeling

    Dear Calvary Family,

We continue to pray and seek God for His wisdom, not our own, about how we handle everything in regards to the coronavirus and our plans for regathering indoors. We have asked you to earnestly pray and I ask you to continue to pray for wisdom, for God to end this virus, and for God to keep drawing us closer to Him and to one another throughout this season.

We are aware of the recent Supreme Court decision regarding a couple California churches which states that restrictions from the government must take the facilities of the church into account and not limit all churches to 100 or 200 people, but limit to 25% of capacity. However, the court stated that the government can continue to restrict singing in indoor services. We also recognize that just because something is permissible, does not mean that it is beneficial. We are praising God that the numbers of COVID cases per day are dropping dramatically and the hospitalizations in Orange County are half of what they were one month ago. Our elders are meeting again next week to continue discussing these important issues and to reflect on what God has shown us in our recent times of prayer.

I look forward to sharing with you this Sunday some of what God placed on my heart through time spent in silence and solitude last week in regards to returning to the essentials of what matters most. Please join us, either online or at Calvary, as we learn how to live out our faith in Hebrews 13:7-9.

Thank you for continuing to pray for what God wants for Calvary Church. Not what I want, not what you want, not what any groups want, but simply what God wants for us.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
    Eric
