Preparing Now for Easter

3/19/26 | The Weekly | by Eric Wakeling

    Dear Calvary Family,

Romans 6:10-11 says, “When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.”

We have so much to celebrate this time of year as Resurrection Sunday is just around the corner. There are a few opportunities that require some thinking ahead and even registration that I’d like you to consider as you also prepare your heart for worship, remembrance, and celebration.

These three things include being baptized on Easter, attending our Passover Seder, and inviting someone to attend our Easter Sunday service with you.

    1. We’d love for you to be baptized this Easter Sunday, April 5th, at either our 8:30am or 10:30am services in English/ASL. We have a Baptism Class this Sunday, March 22 at 11:00am in the Worship Center Lobby to help you learn more about it. Please register at CalvaryLife.org/Baptism or just show up at 11:00am.

    2. Our annual Passover Seder is on Thursday, April 2nd at 7:00pm and costs $20. We will go through and participate in all the elements of a traditional Passover Seder while also showing you how The Last Supper of Jesus was a Passover meal. It’s astonishing how Jesus is evident in all the elements of the meal and this will impact how you take communion for the rest of your life. Plus, it’s super interesting and fun! You need to pay and register in advance at CalvaryLife.org/Passover.

    3. Finally, I’d love for you to be praying about who you can invite to attend Easter at Calvary with you. We will have services at 8:30am and 10:30am on April 5th with Easter Egg Hunts outside immediately following both services. The whole morning will be a great opportunity for people far from God, seeking God, or even who’ve just drifted away a bit. Everyone will be warmly welcomed and will have a chance to hear and experience the Good News of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection! Find out more at CalvaryLife.org/Easter.

We have a lot more going on that week, which we will keep you posted about, and you can read more about at CalvaryLife.org, but these all require some advance planning and registration. Happy Resurrection Day!

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
    Eric Wakeling
