Dear Calvary Family,

We are in the full swing of summer around here at Calvary Church. Here are some updates for us to be seeking the Lord in prayer together.

Our College and Young Adults group is up at Lake Shasta on their Houseboat Trip. Our Elementary kids got back last weekend from a trip to Forest Home Camp. Our Middle School and High School groups are preparing to head to Hume Lake soon. And everybody is getting ready for VBS at the end of July! Please be praying for all these wonderful activities and so many more ways that ministry is happening in the summer at Calvary.

Here’s a prayer for everyone leading and guiding our young people this summer. It’s really a prayer for anyone in ministry leadership, including me. It’s Ephesians 6:18-19,

¹⁸ Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

¹⁹ And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike.

We are also at the end of our fiscal year on June 30th. We set up our budget year to be from July 1 to June 30 each year, so all of our budgets related to giving and using funds for ministry operate around that calendar. Here’s an update on how we are doing as we are about a week away from the end of that budget year.

Our General Fund is what funds and fuels all of our ongoing Calvary Church ministry that happens on a regular basis through the people, buildings, events, and resources that your contributions make possible. That General Fund is about $80,000 behind with one Sunday left in the fiscal year. That’s about 2% behind. Praise God! We pray that God will continue to provide over this next week. We would simply ask that you prayerfully give as God leads you to with faithfulness and obedience to the scriptures and to his desire for you to grow in your trust of him.

Our Reach Fund is what funds and fuels both local and global outreach and supports our Reach Partners around the world. This Reach Fund is currently about $60,000 ahead with one week left! Praise God! This does not include the $300,000 matching gift that was pledged this year as well. And we have now reached that matching number, fully maximizing that incredibly generous gift to our Reach Ministries. This will allow us to fund some additional outreach projects and provide more to our missionaries. We are still prayerfully discerning what all these projects should be.

Please prayerfully consider if God is calling you to join our team here, or help spread the word and share with those you think might be an answer to our prayers for these staff positions.
