Trusting in the Lord to Guide and Provide

6/11/26 | The Weekly | by Eric Wakeling

    Dear Calvary Family,

We are almost to the end of our fiscal year, which ends on June 30th. This has been another year of deep dependence, trusting in the Lord to guide and provide for all that is needed to further the work of ministry locally and globally.

And, in many ways, this has also been an extraordinary season of generosity, especially with all that is involved in Forward in Faith. The latest update on our General Ministry Fund, which supports all that happens here at Calvary, is that we are currently $96,000 short of our target goal. Our Reach Missions Fund, which supports 54 Global Partners serving in 24 countries and strategic Partnership Projects, is $47,000 ahead of the goal set for this year.

Plus, we are on track to meet the $300,000 gift-matching opportunity for Missions by the end of June, having received $265,000 since the beginning of April. This means that each dollar given during this time will be doubled by a generous donor and will go out to help share the love and truth of Jesus with our neighbors and the nations!

We are deeply grateful for your generous and sacrificial giving to Calvary Church. We recognize that giving to the Lord is a blessing and a gift that we all do cheerfully. We also understand that there is a sacrifice to that generosity, which carries a significance that is truly appreciated.

My prayer is that you would experience the joy of giving with a willing and whole heart, and then experience the blessing of true dependence on God. As Paul encourages in 2 Corinthians 9:7-8,

“You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. ‘For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.’ 8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.”

You can learn more about giving - and make a contribution in the offering on Sundays at Calvary or online today - at CalvaryLife.org/Give.

Finally, we also have a few open positions for working on staff here at Calvary! We’d love to have you consider applying or letting other qualified candidates know about the positions here. We are currently looking for a High School Ministry Associate, a Church-Wide Administrative Assistant, and an Executive Leadership Team Administrative Assistant. You can find job descriptions and how to apply at CalvaryLife.org/Jobs.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
    Eric Wakeling
