You're Invited - Calvary Worship Night February 16

2/6/25 | The Weekly | by Jasen Ashdown

    Hello Calvary Church Family!

    I am so excited for the Worship Night we have planned for next Sunday, February 16th at 6:00pm. There is something very powerful when the people of God gather and set aside intentional time to focus on the Lord. I’m praying you will join us as we sing, pray, and read scripture together — taking some extended time to seek the Lord.

    Our Sunday morning gatherings have been so wonderful and I am anticipating and expecting God to move as we humble ourselves before Him and seek His face. As the song King David wrote when the Ark of the Covenant was brought back to Jerusalem, recorded in 1 Chronicles 16 and repeated in Psalm 105:

    “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
        make known among the nations what he has done.
    Sing to him, sing praise to him;
        tell of all his wonderful acts.
    Glory in his holy name;
        let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
    Look to the Lord and his strength;
        seek his face always.
    Remember the wonders he has done…”

    Let’s give to the Lord the glory and praise He is so worthy to receive. As followers of Jesus, we desire to worship in Spirit and in truth — remembering the truth of who God is, rejoicing because of all He has done, realigning our mind's attention and heart's affection to His will and ways, and responding to His love and leading in our lives.

    So, come and take some time to be still and seek the Lord. Let’s resist the temptations of our culture and its rapid pace competing for our attention by taking a deep breath, slowing down, waiting on the Lord, and worshiping Him together.

    Let’s keep our eyes focused on Jesus — the author and perfecter of our faith — declaring with one voice, “Jesus we love you and trust you - have your way in us!”

    Hope to see you there!
