Honoring a Faithful Family

The Kroeker Family at Calvary - Then & Now

Greetings Calvary Family!

I wanted to take this time in our email this week to honor a few Calvary families who are going to be moving on to retirement in South Carolina. These are families who exemplified what it means to serve God in the local church.

Gordon and Norma Kroeker - Gordon has been on staff for over 42 years as our Facility Manager. Normal has also been on staff for over 42 years as our Receptionist. They have both been members since 1969.

Alvin and Lois Chandler - Lois has served on staff for over 32 years as an Administrative Assistant for a few different ministries. Alvin is a former elder and both have been members since 1976.

Kip and Carla Chandler are also moving with them. They are both long-time members and served as ushers and greeters.

The amazing story is that Lois and Carla are sisters and Alvin and Kip are brothers! Then they all formed a big happy family and now they are moving to South Carolina where Lois and Alvin's son lives with his family.

We can learn a great lesson of commitment to God, family and the church from these wonderful people. They have served God in the local church for a combined 116 years on staff and way more than that through the giving of their time. They have experienced what it looks like to dedicate their lives to a local body and fully immerse themselves into it. They care for one another as a family through the joys and trials of life.

We obviously can't take the time to recognize every family that moves or has committed their lives to Calvary Church, but this group has blessed us for decades and we want to honor and appreciate them as they go. We will have a reception for them in the Worship Center lobby between services (10:15-11:00) this Sunday and we would love for you all to come and give them a hug goodbye.

To the Chandler/Kroeker clan - may the Lord bless you and keep you!
