Happy Thanksgiving - Join us for a United Sunday at 10:00am
Dear Calvary Family,
Happy Thanksgiving! We truly have so much to be thankful for as a church. I’m personally deeply thankful to the Lord for his provision, care, and his presence with us — in both joyful and difficult times.
I’m grateful that we get to celebrate with gratitude ALL TOGETHER at our United Sunday on November 30th at 10:00am. I’m so grateful for the many baptisms we will have this Sunday, demonstrating the life change happening by God through Calvary Church!
This is a United Sunday where we will have English, Spanish, ASL, and Mandarin languages all expressed in the service. I can’t wait to have the closing blessing prayer in all those languages! We will also have children from 1st grade and up in the service with us, which means we will have Kids' programs for Nursery through Kindergarten. Plus, plan to stay after the service to enjoy a Party on the Patio!
But remember, we only have one service at 10:00am!
This is also the first Sunday of Advent and it’s all about hope. I know a few people in my life who are searching for hope. Sometimes we are searching even when we know that hope is only found in Jesus. We can’t just know about hope, we still need to experience hope through our lives with Jesus.
That’s why we’ve offered a few ways to experience that hope from God With Us this Sunday.
- Come worship with the whole family of God together at 10:00am in the Worship Center
- Get an Advent Prayer Guide for this season in English or Spanish
- Come to the Advent Worship Night this Sunday at 4:00pm in the Chapel
All the details for all the Christmas events at Calvary, including a digital version of the Advent Prayer Guide, can be found at CalvaryLife.org/Christmas.
And finally, make sure to be inviting people to our Christmas Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 6th from 4:00-7:00pm. There will be camel rides, pony rides, a petting zoo, a Living Nativity, Christmas crafts, In-N-Out Truck, Christmas for a Cause Market, cookie decorating, hot cocoa, singing carols, and the reading of the Christmas Story — followed by lighting up the tree!
May the Lord bless you and keep you,
Eric Wakeling
