Taking Steps Toward Connection
Thank you again to all who were able to join us for the Connect Fair last Sunday! It’s such a blessing to see so many people taking steps towards connection at Calvary.
One of my greatest hopes for the people of Calvary is that each of you would find a place to connect with others so you can pursue Christ together. The life of discipleship that Christ modeled for us was one done in community. The two main places that community takes place at Calvary is through LifeGroups and serving on a team. Both of these places create different opportunities for people to walk in Jesus with others.
Proverbs 27:17 says “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” There is profound tension, encouragement, and growth that comes from following Jesus with other people. Jesus’ life and ministry with his disciples displays the beauty that can come from these types of relationships.
The simple question I have for you is… do you have a community in which you are pursuing Christ with other people? Our culture tries to isolate us in so many ways. Through intentional community with other believers we push back against the tendency to do life alone and push forward into an abundant life shaped by community.
I encourage you to take some time to look through the variety of groups and ministry teams Calvary has to offer and consider where the Lord might use your unique story and gifting to bless and encourage others as you yourself are encouraged.
