2019 Thanksgiving Offering
"I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these … you did for me.”
- Jesus in Matthew 25:40
We have so much to be thankful for as followers of Jesus and as the family of God here at Calvary Church! As an act of worship and thanksgiving to the Lord each Thanksgiving season we ask our Calvary Church family to generously give above and beyond their normal financial giving to a special Thanksgiving offering project.
This year, our hope is to use our Thanksgiving offering to bring encouragement and hope to the displaced here in Orange County and in Lesvos, Greece.
Reach Local Partner
We have two projects we are really excited about. The first is a local project with the Orange County Rescue Mission. The Mission is in desperate need of more Bibles to hand out to the thousands of homeless men and women they serve in Orange County. The Rescue Mission has told us they have the ability to give out 2,000 Bibles this year to the hurting, homeless and hopeless of Orange County. Our prayer is that our offering will cover the purchase of all 2,000 Bibles!
Reach Global Partner
The Global project for our Thanksgiving offering will go toward the Greater Europe Mission Refugee Community Center on the Greek island of Lesvos. You may remember, this is where our Calvary college students served this past summer and where we are hoping to send 3 summer teams in 2020. The G.E.M. community center offers free Bible Studies, Christian books, tea, coffee and a calm place to rest from the chaos of the refugee camps located on the island. The cost to keep the center open for one year is $6,000 and our prayer is that our Thanksgiving offering will cover this cost for the entire 2020 year.
Will You Join Us?
We ask that you would pray and ask God if he is calling you to be part of this special offering.Thank you in advance for whatever God is calling you to give.
We love serving, worshiping and living life with you at Calvary Church, To God be the Glory!
