A Christian Worldview for Tumultuous Times

6/12/25 | The Weekly | by Eric Wakeling

    Dear Calvary Family,

We are living in tumultuous times where it can be difficult to know and understand the truth and what the appropriate Christian response should be to different circumstances. I certainly hope it’s difficult and we are not just following the orders of our favorite news channel or public figure.

This requires deep prayer, wrestling with the biblical text, reading other great works, and discussing that with fellow believers. This is not so much about “what to think” but more about “how to think.”

We are teaming up with the Colson Center for Christian Worldview to bring the Colson Fellows Program to Calvary. The Colson Fellows Program is a nine-month course that takes students on a deep dive into the study of Christian Worldview. We believe that this knowledge is vital for the Church in this cultural moment to help us understand the times, so we can know how to live faithfully and with courage.

Here is a short (2-minute) video about the program, which will begin on August 1.

Tuition for Calvary members is only $450 (a 50% discount from the normal rate), and the cost of the course’s assigned books has already been covered by a generous donor.

If you are interested and/or have questions, there will be an information meeting with greater detail on June 29 at 11:00am. To RSVP or learn more today, please contact Jim Bacin at or Craig Bryson at You can also hit them up at Connection Point after this Sunday’s service.

I look forward to seeing you all this Sunday, where we will worship in song, pray, seek the Lord, and process through what it looks like to be useful in the Kingdom of God. We have one life. Let’s not waste it. Let’s leverage our gifts for the glory of God in the world around us. I am praying for everyone in our community right now - for the Lord to give his incomparable peace in the midst of fear and uncertainty.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
    Eric Wakeling
