A Life-Changing Week at Camp Fargongo VBS!
Dear Calvary Family!
What an amazing week at Calvary’s Camp Fargongo VBS! We have seen all of the volunteers and kids gather together to TRUST JESUS. Let’s take a moment to reflect on all that we have done.
Our vision of Vacation Bible School is to see the Gospel preached every day and lives changed forever.
Each morning we have had fifteen volunteers arrive at 4:30 am to ready our campus. Another dozen volunteers arrive an hour later to prepare breakfast for 450 volunteers and their children! After enjoying the morning breakfast, over 900 kids were welcomed by these trained volunteers who led amazing worship songs, told stories about trusting Jesus, refereed wacky games, taught Bible verses, provided engaging crafts and delicious snacks, and directed spiritual conversations.
This week, we focused on learning what it means to trust Jesus every day. When we wonder, feel alone, feel powerless, need hope, or need help - we can trust Jesus!! Since Monday, 137 kids have made first-time decisions to follow Jesus as Savior and Lord, entering into an everlasting relationship with God. On top of that, 20 kids rededicated their lives to the Lord, 29 wanted to know more about what Jesus has done, and 37 who asked for prayer about what is happening in their lives.
We have heard stories from volunteers about the life change that has happened each day. One of our crew leaders shared that this was her first week serving at VBS and is now excited to do make it a priority to serve each summer!
God provided everything we needed for each day! We are so grateful for you and what you have contributed to make an impact on the lives of these kids. But the week isn’t over! There’s still more God is doing and we are excited to play a small part in His Big Story.

Invite: Help spread the word - everyone is invited to an all-family VBS Service this Sunday at 10:00am with all ages and languages together to celebrate the amazing week of Camp Fargongo VBS, plus a Party on the Patio!
Bless: Our Penny Project this year is helping raise funds for new laptops and inspiring ongoing prayer support to bless our global partners, the Faber family who serve at Rift Valley Academy - an international school for children of missionaries in Kijabe, Kenya. Donate to this project by eating at Chick-fil-A at 1701 North Tustin Avenue today from 12pm to 5pm. Tell them you are part of Calvary’s VBS to benefit our Penny Project. Volunteer: We will have clean up to do TODAY and Sunday. Today, join us at 12:00pm in S-1, our Volunteer Headquarters, before helping to pack away VBS until next year. On Sunday, before going into our VBS Service at 10:00am, check in with Denise Ristenpart in the Worship Center Lobby and learn how you can help after the service at our Party on the Patio or with final VBS clean up.
