An Invitation - Celebrate Christmas at Calvary!
Dear Calvary Family,
Christmas time is here! We are in the thick of the wonderful holiday season with parties, lights, kids programs, and family gatherings. As cliche as it sounds, I’d like to remind you of the reason for the season in the midst of all the busyness.
I heard a great quote this week by baptist professor, Dan DeWitt, on the incarnation (God becoming human):
The incarnation means He became like us.
The resurrection means we’ll become like Him.
We always celebrate the resurrection because Christmas points to the resurrection. We always celebrate the resurrection because communion points to the resurrection. We always celebrate the resurrection because we worship a God who reigns over sin, death, hell, and judgment giving His grace and love in full measure.
We celebrate Christmas because the storyline of the resurrection begins now. We celebrate Christmas because God became like us. God knows our joys and our sorrows.
I would like to personally invite you to celebrate with us at one of our Candlelight services and our Christmas Morning service.
Our Candlelight Christmas services are an ideal opportunity to invite friends and family to a time where they will hear the gospel in a loving and gracious way. There are fun, moving and beautiful moments throughout what we have planned for you. Join us on Friday, December 23 at 7:00pm or Saturday, December 24 at 4:00pm (In the Worship Center with ASL available, plus viewing in the Courtyard and Live Online). Discover more about what to expect at SantaAnaChristmas.com.
Christmas Day falls on a Sunday this year and we will spend about an hour worshiping our Savior and learning about how Jesus is the Light of the World. This will be a simple and family-friendly worship service at 9:00am in the Worship Center in English and ASL. Our service in Spanish will be at 11:00am in the Chapel. There will be no Children’s Ministry, Student Ministry or LifeGroups available on Christmas Day.
See more about each week of our Current Series for Advent at CalvaryLife.org/Series.
This is the same format for New Year’s Day as well just a week later on a Sunday! Come begin 2023 focused on Jesus and what matters most as we follow Him together. See details for our annual "First, Love" Sunday here.
I’d also like to take a moment to speak to any of you that experience pain or grief during this season. We love you and care for you. Please know that our pastors and our Soul Care Ministry leaders are available for you over these next couple of weeks as you need. You can find out more at CalvaryLife.org/SoulCare.
Merry Christmas!
