Bless This Block
Dear Calvary Family,
We had an incredible service on Sunday learning about blessing and practicing it in the service. If you missed it, check out the message on Numbers 6 “Begin with Blessing” - watch here. Also, our episode of the Calvary Life Podcast this week is all about Blessing - listen here.
God told the priests of Israel to daily speak the words of Numbers 6:22-27 over the people and God would bless them through that speaking of blessing. According to 1 Peter 2:9, we are all part of the royal priesthood of believers. We have also been given authority by Jesus to perform miracles and proclaim his Kingdom in Matthew 10 and Luke 10. We are blessed by God to be a blessing to others. And, we bless in line with God's will and His Word. Here are the Scriptures we used during our interactive practice of blessing each other on Sunday - Blessing Scriptures (PDF).
Therefore, we are taking the Great Commission and these commands seriously to bless others in Jesus' name. We are unifying around a goal for 2022 to Bless This Block as we depend on the power of Christ and bless the people of our own neighborhoods as well as the neighborhood around Calvary Church.
We need you! On Sunday we broke out into regional neighborhood groups to connect with each other and begin to pray blessings over each of our areas. Now is the time, if you haven’t already, to sign up for your neighborhood group by going to CalvaryLife.org/Bless.
Find your area and hit the “join here” button. Stay tuned for more details as events and resources are coordinated in the weeks to come. And as we approach Easter, there will be opportunities to gather on mission to bless those living right around 1010 N Tustin Avenue and those at the hospital across the street from our campus.
Finally, it will be helpful for this if you are connected to Calvary using the Church Center App - learn more and get the App today at CalvaryLife.org/App.
May the Lord bless you and keep you,
Eric Wakeling
