Fall 2025 Generosity Update

10/23/25 | The Weekly | by Eric Wakeling

    Dear Calvary Family,

Thank you for your continued generosity, faithfulness, and personal sacrifice of time and finances. Your gifts help people encounter Jesus and experience His love—here at Calvary, in our community, and around the world.

First of all, thank you to all those who supported the Calvary Christian School 50th Anniversary Auction last weekend. It was a lovely evening where we raised over $120,000 to help further Christ-centered learning for the next generation.

I am grateful for our Business Administration staff and Trustee volunteers who take the stewardship of your contributions seriously and carefully review our finances each month to ensure that our resources are being used wisely for Kingdom impact. Following is an update from this team on how things are going financially for the first quarter of this Fiscal Year, which began on July 1.

Our General Church Ministry Fund, which enables the many ministries happening across Calvary, is currently $107,000 behind the budget target—roughly 10% below our goal for this point in the year. Our Reach Missions Fund is $47,000 behind, or about 23% short of our giving target. This dedicated fund supports our missionaries and strategic projects to share the love and truth of Jesus locally and globally.

We know that every season has its challenges, yet we’ve seen God’s faithfulness again and again over the past 94 years of Calvary's history through the generous hearts of His people. If you’d like to help us close the gap and keep ministry going strong, you can give or learn more about each fund at CalvaryLife.org/Give.

We’re also grateful for how God is guiding and providing through our Forward in Faith initiative, which launched in the summer of 2024. Phase One—replacing the Worship Center HVAC and repairing the roof—is now complete! The final cost was $1.8 million, about 10% above initial estimates, due to additional steel supports and valves needed during installation. Yet, thanks to your generosity, we completed this phase with no debt! And, we are now programming our new control system to take advantage of energy savings and reduce future utility expenses.

So far, we’ve received just over $3 million toward our updated goal of $3.5 million for Forward in Faith. Looking ahead, we are excited to move into Phase Two, including our next priority of renovating some of our outdoor spaces. You can explore what’s next as we continue improving our campus for future generations at CalvaryLife.org/Forward.

If you ever have any questions on Calvary’s finances or facilities, please contact our Executive Pastor Michael Welles at 714-550-2313 or .

Thank you for praying, giving, and trusting God with us. We’re so grateful to walk forward in faith together!

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
    Eric Wakeling
