Generosity Update - Fiscal Year End

6/20/24 | The Weekly | by Eric Wakeling

    Dear Calvary Family,

One of the key practices of a healthy church family is to be open and transparent about as much as we possibly can, especially in the area of finances. We have a few regular times of year that we send out updates on how our budget is doing in regards to both contributions and spending. Our fiscal year ends on June 30th, so it’s almost the end of the year even though it doesn’t feel like it to most of us.

Financially, this year we have seen a deepening dependence on God for his guidance and provision throughout the highs and the lows, the certainty and the uncertainty, the comfort and the discomfort. God is transforming each one of us in all these seasons, both in our personal lives and in our church. We have been in the midst of a special fundraising season with the Forward in Faith projects while also having some moments of concern with how our General Ministry and Reach Missions Fund contributions were coming along.

As of June 16th, with two Sundays left in the fiscal year, the General Ministry fund is behind budget target by $91,000 and the Reach Missions fund is behind by $49,000. Thank you so much to all of you who have helped narrow our budget gap these past two months and prepare us to finish the year in a stronger position. We have also been able to make adjustments to spending and are currently slightly under our expense budget, so with your support we hope to finish the year on track and continue to invest in the people, ministries and facilities that make up Calvary Church. You can make a one-time gift or set up a recurring gift online today at CalvaryLife.org/Give.

We have also been blessed by the response to our Forward in Faith campaign to care for our church campus and our community. A total of $1.8 million has already been given toward the Building Fund — enabling us to move forward debt-free — and another $1.2 million has been pledged to be given between now and December 2026. This brings the total to $3 million of our $3.3 million goal. Thank you to all who have participated! If you would still like to get involved and help us reach our twofold goal of 100% participation and $3.3 million, you can learn more about Forward in Faith and share your commitment today at CalvaryLife.org/Forward.

And again, we deeply thank you for your generosity of heart, service, prayer, and giving. We are truly better together.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
    Eric Wakeling
