Hear from God

    Dear Calvary Family,

    We worship a God who both hears us and speaks to us!
    That means we are called to both speak and listen.

    “The Lord has heard my plea;
    the Lord will answer my prayer.”
    Psalm 6:9

    “Come to me with your ears wide open.
    Listen, and you will find life.”
    Isaiah 55:3a

    This Sunday morning, in both our English/ASL service at 9:00am and Spanish service at 11:00am, we will be talking about the first Calling Statement of Calvary Church that we want to equip everyone to be able to both understand and do - Hear from God. We will look at many biblical examples, while I’ll also tell some of my own personal stories of hearing from God at different points in my life.

    What an astounding thought! To hear from the God of the Universe! We are so blessed that God has given us both the Bible and the Holy Spirit to be able to hear from God in a variety of ways.

    Is this a longing you have? For God’s voice to be present in your life? To understand what God says in the Bible? To receive direction for life from God himself? To receive comfort and presence in times of need? We believe you can hear from God and we want to equip you to be able to feel comfortable and prepared to hear from him in your everyday life.

    The Hear from God Journey is a seven-week, in-person experience where you will sit at a table of others who are on the journey with you, being guided through how we hear from God. You will then process through that learning each day on your own during that 40+ Day span of time. I WHOLEHEARTEDLY believe that you will complete this journey equipped with the tools, relationships, and experiences to help you begin the next journey of living it out in your daily life.

    We want EVERYONE to go on this journey with us! So we are offering this Hear from God Journey at multiple times. We might even add tables or locations if we fill up!

    • Sundays at 9:00am or 11:00am in Fellowship Hall
    • Wednesdays at 7:00pm in Fellowship Hall
    • Or Thursdays if you are part of CYA - Calvary’s College & Young Adult group

    You need to register for this Journey - even if you are in a LifeGroup that will be attending it together during one of the times in Fellowship Hall.

    But seriously, sign up now! It’s going to be awesome, and I can’t wait for you all to experience this journey together.

    We will likely have a lot more room at the 9:00am Sunday option, so we encourage you to consider it when you sign up.

    Also, remember that the English service will be moving to Samsvick Chapel starting on September 6 at 9:00am (with ASL) and 11:00am. The Spanish service will be temporarily moving to the Gym at 11:00am with Logos Mandarin Church temporarily in the Choir Room at 11:00am.
