New Series “More Than An Audience”
Dear Calvary Church Family,
Thank you to so many of you who took the time to fill out our recent survey. Please join our church leadership in prayer as we continue to seek the Lord for His timing for how and when we can meet indoors in a safe manner. We need to consider what brings God glory, what leads people to Christ, what helps us follow Jesus' example, and what helps our people grow and live out our purpose.
I know so many of us feel sidelined to our couches in this season, but I want to encourage you all that we must continue to move forward as followers of Jesus and pursue the common calling we have as His church. I hope you can join us each Sunday, Sep 20 - Nov 1, for MORE THAN AN AUDIENCE. This pivotal 7-part series will dig into scripture, exploring who we are as a church through our essential purposes of worship, living in community, having spiritual friendships, giving, serving, and reaching out locally and globally. Through this entire pandemic season, our church’s mission has never changed. Yet, our ministries have adapted to carry out God’s calling for our church in new ways. We are preaching the Word of God and worshiping together, both online and in person. We are connecting with one another in LifeGroups, by phone, on social media, and through our Church Center App. We are partnering with families to help build up the next generation. We are supporting missionaries overseas. We are feeding those in need through our Pop Up Pantry. We are praying over our neighborhoods and reaching out to the lost. We are giving care to those with emotional and spiritual needs. And, we are starting new ministries this fall to reach people through English as a Second Language classes and conversations that will result in mentoring and discipling relationships. The mission continues!
I am profoundly grateful for your faithfulness and generosity to help fuel the mission God has given us. After the first two months of our new fiscal year, which began July 1, Calvary’s missions fund for Reach Ministries is ahead by about $12,000, while our general fund for Church Ministries is below budget by approximately $40,000.
