Pastoral Update: Can you help by December 31?
Dear Calvary Family,
As 2022 comes to a close, I would like to share one last opportunity this year for giving to Calvary Church.
Your giving is primarily an act of worship and obedience to God and my prayer is that we can all give cheerfully and sacrificially. I genuinely believe that God works in our hearts as we give as worship. It’s an act of realigning our hearts to God’s heart.
The offerings of our church family also fuel and fund the ministry of Calvary Church, both here in our community and around the world. Here are some highlights of God at work through your generosity:
- Your giving to our General and Reach fund supports our field workers and partnerships around the world. This includes church planting, evangelism, bible translation work and providing for physical needs as well.
- You helped fund a full year’s operations of a Refugee Center on the island of Lesvos, Greece run by Greater Europe Mission that supports and shares the gospel with refugees from around the Arab world making their way into Europe.
- You helped support Ukrainian refugees through our field workers in Moldova and other bordering countries.
- You gave above and beyond at Thanksgiving to help bless vulnerable children with 100% of funds for this special offering shared between Safe Families for Children in Orange County and Patricia Sawo's Discover to Recover Centre in Kenya.
- Locally, you supported outreach through Alpha Courses, ESL Classes, Pop Up Food Pantry, YoungLife, FCA, and our new ministry initiatives at the hospital across the street.
- You also fueled our Kids Ministries, Student Ministries, Worship Ministries, Soul Care Ministries, and all the other incredible ministries at Calvary.
- Our church facilities are a real blessing and strategic resource that make so much ministry possible, but also require a lot of upkeep and funds to pay the bills.
- Also, we want to provide a liveable Orange County wage for our staff and many of them really need salary increases this year that I would love to provide for them. Your generosity will enable us to do that.
In these final three days of 2022, the current need to meet our budget target for year-end is $275,239 for General Church Ministry and $97,906 for Reach Missions.
Here are three ways you can give to help make a difference this December:
- Give online today at CalvaryLife.org/Give
- Mail a check to Calvary at 1010 N Tustin Ave. Santa Ana, CA 92705 (postmarked by 12/31)
- Bring your offering to the Church Offices (Upstairs in Worship Center) by 12/29 at 2:00pm or drop in the School Office Drop Box on Tustin Ave by the end of 12/31.
So I thank you for your faithful support this year and I would ask that you pray for how God can use you to empower our church to do all God has called us to do this year. This includes your giving, but also includes your prayers. Please be praying for Calvary Church’s work both locally and globally.
May the Lord bless you and keep you,
Eric Wakeling
