Pastoral Update - My Deepest Gratitude
Dear Calvary Family,
As we approach the end of the year, I wanted to express my deepest gratitude to all of you for your love and generosity here at Calvary Church of Santa Ana. So many of you have given countless hours of service to God here and in the ministries aligned with Calvary in Orange County and around the world. You have prayed for God’s miraculous work to continue to thrive. You have given financially in so many ways to fuel the work of ministry across all of Calvary. I’m so thankful and we are all blessed to be part of this beautiful community.
Our key themes of visionary focus as a church continue to be discipleship and dependence. We have been learning to rely on God for all things and in all seasons as we follow Jesus together.
We learned more about what discipleship means this year. Discipleship is learning to love and follow Jesus by giving away what we have received. Love is the foundation of our entire life of following Jesus. We first receive the love of God and out of the overflow of that love, we then love God and love one another. We all have so much to offer each other because we have all been loved by God and we have all received so much from God. Our role is to continually give away what we have received. My prayer is that in 2024, we would experience an even bigger leap in our belief that we can all make disciples who make disciples.
Our dependence has included God meeting us and speaking to us in some deeply meaningful times of worship and prayer in our services this year. This has included God’s blessing of grace and peace through the personal challenges we all face each day. This dependence was needed when we were faced as a church family with a shockingly expensive need to repair our Heating and Air Conditioning systems in the Worship Center. Our approach was primarily to present the need plainly and simply and then pray for God to provide. And through you, God has already provided $500,000 out of the $1.6 million needed toward the project. Find an FAQ and updates on this at CalvaryLife.org/Campus.
We also continue to express our dependence on God every year in December as we rely on His financial provision and I want to update you on our current need. Our main fund for General Church Ministry is currently behind by $75,000 and our target set for December is $600,000. Our Reach Missions fund is on target, but our need in December is double the other months at $125,000 to support the ongoing kingdom work of our ministry partners and projects. Contributions to our Building Fund will help us not have to borrow money for our Air Conditioning project when the equipment arrives next September. Will you join me in praying for Calvary Church and consider making a year-end contribution to help further our ministries locally and globally into 2024 and beyond?
You can give online by setting up a recurring gift or a one-time donation at CalvaryLife.org/Give. You may also bring your offering to one of our worship services in December or mail your gift to Calvary Church at 1010 N Tustin Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92705. Thank you again for your incredible generosity to the Lord and to our church.
And as the year ends, I pray this blessing over you as we do each Sunday. May the Lord bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you, lift His countenance to you, and give you peace. Amen.
