Pastoral Update - Thank you for generosity in 2021

12/29/21 | The Weekly | by Eric Wakeling

    Dear Calvary Family,

I’m still praising God for a weekend of beautiful services giving glory to God for the wonder of the birth of Christ - God with us! We all needed that reminder of the Good News of Great Joy.

As we head toward the year end, I wanted to thank you for your generosity this year and encourage you to consider Calvary Church as you make your year-end giving.

You might be someone that never thinks about year-end giving because, like 80% of people, you don’t itemize your taxes. However, there are changes to the tax code for this year that allow anyone to reduce their gross taxable income by up to $300 for charitable donations, $600 per couple filing together even if they are not itemizing their deductions. All gifts online, dropped off, or postmarked by December 31, 2021 are eligible for this deduction.

While our Reach Fund for missions is currently ahead of target by $7,500, we still need $259,000 more towards our General Fund to meet our budget goals for the end of 2021. This is not an emergency, but it is significant and I simply want you to be aware of the need.

You can give online today at calvarylife.org/give

Thanks again for your partnership in proclaiming Jesus to the world and growing God’s church here at Calvary Church of Santa Ana. I am looking forward with prayerful expectation for all God will do as we follow Jesus together in 2022.

See you this Sunday, January 2 for a Family Service with 1st Grade and up together for worship (Nursery - K programs available) at 9:00am in English/ASL and 11:00am in Spanish as we start a new 4-part series called First, Love.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
    Eric Wakeling
