Responding to God's Invitation

11/14/24 | The Weekly | by Eric Wakeling

    Dear Calvary Family,

As you heard last Sunday, and hopefully at many other times, we care deeply about the Good News of Jesus going out around the world. It was so inspiring to hear the stories of those who have been translating the Bible into languages of people from nations so far away from our familiar lives here in Orange County.  You can watch and share this memorable service on demand on YouTube, Vimeo or CalvaryLife.org/Live.

If God is stirring something in you about his movement globally then I’d encourage you to check out CalvaryLife.org/Reach where you can read more about different ways to get involved and how you can respond to God’s calling to reach neighbors and nations, including our GO Trips for 2025.

I would also like to turn your attention to the invitation of Jesus to the people we interact with each day here in our everyday lives. How are you inviting people to hear the message of the gospel, the love and grace of Jesus, and the community of Christ-centered friendship and discipleship that we have as part of God’s family?

God is inviting you to be with him. God longs for you to be in his presence. God is throwing a party, a banquet, a feast, and he wants you to have a seat at his table. So many things try to distract us from God and his deep love for us. We have so many excuses and reasons to place our focus on everything but him. But God still stands at the door and knocks. He wants to share a meal with you as friends.

This Sunday we will continue our series on Kingdom Priorities with a look into Luke 14:12-24 and this invitation from God to us, as well as our invitation to others to join with him. We will have a wonderful time of responding to God’s love and presence. I highly encourage you to come with open hearts to all that God will do in you this Sunday.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
    Eric Wakeling
