The Harvest is Ripe

8/30/23 | The Weekly | by Eric Wakeling

    Dear Calvary Family,

We pray that Jesus, the Lord of the Harvest, would send workers into the harvest of the Kingdom of God. We pray that because the harvest is ripe, it’s ready, and the workers are few. Please Lord, send more people to share the Good News of the grace and love of God. Please Lord, send people overseas to share the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Please Lord, send people here to their friends and neighbors. Please Lord, send me wherever you would have me go and tell whoever you would have me tell. Please give me courage, a heart of love to people, opportunities and open doors to share, and the words to say when I walk through the open door.

That’s the 10:02 CHOW Prayer we would love for you to pray every single day at 10:02 am or pm. I have an alarm on my phone that goes off every day at 10:02am. I pray for more missionaries, I pray for Greater Europe Mission (since they taught me this practice), and I pray for God to send me to whoever he would have for me to help in the process of becoming a disciple of Jesus.

Starting tonight, you have one of the most effective, safe, welcoming and incredible opportunities for helping someone learn about Jesus and be able to ask any of the questions they never thought they could ask about God.

    The Alpha Course.

It starts tonight but it’s also completely fine if people start next week or even the week after. These sorts of questions will be discussed - Who is Jesus? Why did he die? How can I have faith? How and why do I pray? And more!

Please pray the 10:02 CHOW Prayer and then invite someone to attend the Alpha Course with you! Wednesdays at 7:00pm in Fellowship Hall.

    Thanks!

Here’s a couple additional things to consider this week:

We had a wonderful night of prayer last night for the Campus Needs we are facing together as a church family. If you weren’t able to attend one of these nights, we’d love for you to learn more about the projects and the upcoming member vote on September 10. You can find the details at CalvaryLife.org/Campus

Beach Baptisms and Party are on Sunday, September 10th at 5pm with the baptisms beginning at 6:00pm. If you would like to be baptized, please come learn more at one of our baptism classes offered the next two Sundays at. Find details and sign up online at CalvaryLife.org/Baptism

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
    Eric Wakeling
