Update on Sunday's Vote
Dear Calvary Family,
Thank you for your prayers and your trust in Calvary Church leadership as we have navigated through the beginnings of our need to repair the Worship Center Heating and Air Conditioning systems.
We had a Special Meeting during our services on Sunday that included a vote by our members regarding this issue and I’m here to report on the results.
Proposal 1 was approved by 94.7% — this was the vote to approve the construction project to repair the HVAC system and related roofing areas - not to exceed $1.6 million.
Proposal 2 was approved by 85.2% — this was the vote to approve expanding and utilizing our current line of credit and banknote up to $1.6 million to accomplish the HVAC project.
We recognize that there is strong support to do the project and we will begin taking the next steps as soon as possible. We also recognize that there is support, but less strong, for the use of debt to accomplish the project.
I’d like to speak into that a little more.
First of all, I agree with those who are hesitant about taking on debt. I am too! If needed at all, we only want to use borrowed funds for a short period of time and pay that off quickly by raising the needed funds as a church community. Proposal 2 was primarily to give us the flexibility we need to manage the project efficiently and cost-effectively.
Secondly, my hope is that we can raise the necessary funds before even needing to take on debt. After this past Sunday, we actually have already received just over 10% of the total cost of the project in donations. Praise God!
Will you join us in giving towards this project now?
Our bold goal is to trust God in dependence to raise the entire $1.6 million in the next 6 months so we don’t require taking on any debt whatsoever! Will you pray for that with me?
To give to this project, simply go to CalvaryLife.org/Give and select the Building Fund. You can also mail or bring a check or cash and designate it to the Building Fund on your check memo line or offering envelope.
Thank you for your ongoing generosity and support for the ministry of Calvary Church.
May the Lord bless you and keep you,
Eric Wakeling
