We have Good News this Easter!
Dear Calvary Family,
We loved all of our Reach Week festivities! It was so good to connect with many of our global missionary partners, hear how God is at work around the world, and respond to the call to live as ones who are SENT to share the Good News of Jesus with our neighbors and the nations.
As the Apostle Paul wrote, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved... And how will anyone go and tell them without being SENT? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” (Romans 10:13,15)
Holy Week is almost here and it is full of great opportunities to share the Good News as we gather together to celebrate, worship, learn and respond to God.
First, I highly encourage you to keep praying as you Bless your Block and ask God who you can be inviting to our Easter Sunday services - in English at 6:30am and 9:00 am, in Spanish at 6:30 and 11:00am. What people in your life need to hear the Good News of Great Joy we will be proclaiming this Easter? You can also join us on Sunday, April 10 at 12:15pm by the flagpole as we head out in teams to bless the block around Calvary. See more at CalvaryLife.org/Bless.
Second, I would love for you to be baptized on Easter Sunday, April 17, during our 9:00am service. If you have placed your trust in Jesus but have not been baptized, this is such a perfect time to identify yourself with His life, death and resurrection through water baptism. We will have a Baptism class this Sunday, April 10 at 11:00 am. Come learn more and prepare to take this meaningful next step as a follower of Jesus. Learn more and RSVP today at CalvaryLife.org/Baptism.
Third, we are having our Passover Seder on Thursday, April 14. This is a hands-on experience where you will celebrate the Passover and learn how everything in this feast points to Jesus, our Messiah. We celebrate this on Thursday of Holy Week on the same evening that Jesus would have before he headed to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray. A group of Calvary pastors will lead through the teaching and we will have a full, delicious, catered meal in addition to the traditional Passover elements. See details and get your tickets today at CalvaryLife.org/Passover.
You can find out more about Easter at Calvary including Palm Sunday, Passover Seder, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday at CalvaryLife.org/Easter.
Again, please be in prayer for these moments we have to celebrate, worship and hear the Good News of Great Joy.
May the Lord bless you and keep you,
Eric
