Will you please join me in praying?
Dear Calvary Family,
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6
I was meeting with some of our elders last night and we all were united around the fact that we want to be back together for worship services on Sunday morning. We crave for that so deeply! While we know that the church isn’t only about the Sunday service in our Worship Center, we still love to have that regular connection with God and each other where we encourage one another and stimulate each other to love and good deeds.
We don’t have a specific date for the return yet. But I’m asking you to pray for it to happen. Will you please join me in praying for us to be able to worship together soon indoors with ministry for our kids and young people as well? Our pastoral staff had a day of fasting and prayer this last week seeking God for His power and guidance for this next season of ministry. Please partner in fervent prayer with us for God to move in a way that allows us to regather while staying true to the Word of God, loving our neighbors well, and maintaining our witness for Christ to our friends who do not yet believe.
Pray for the coronavirus numbers to continue to drop, pray for our government leaders to make decisions that take churches into account, pray for us to love people well in the name of Jesus, pray for God to lift our spirits and give us courage, pray for unity in Christ, and pray for us to be able to meet very soon!
In the meantime, we are preparing to be able to regather indoors as soon as we are able and will inform you of our plans as soon as possible. We also know that LifeGroups and our outdoor Worship Services are ideal ways for us to experience almost all that we desire from an indoor worship service with ministry for kids and young people.
So I implore you to sign up for a LifeGroup either as a leader or an attender. Take a next step today at CalvaryLife.org/Groups. I encourage you to attend our evening services and even bring your kids. We are also considering a shift in start time as we enter the fall, so please be on the lookout for updates on that soon. You can RSVP for this Sunday at 7:00pm on our App or at CalvaryLife.org/OnCampus
I continue to believe that the church has never closed! We must continue to be obedient to the Word of God, maintain our witness, and love our neighbors well. I also believe that we need to be in prayer for God to allow all of that to happen and for us to move forward with what God has for Calvary Church in this season.
So let’s make our requests known to God together!
May the Lord bless you and keep you,
Eric Wakeling
