Dear Calvary Family,

Philippians 4:6 has a verse that is sometimes hard for me to hear. “Don’t be anxious but pray.” It’s true and wonderful, but also really hard to live out. I also think that famous part makes us skip over the next part.

Philippians 4:6b-7 (NLT) says, “Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”  

1. Tell God what you need.
2. Thank God for all He has done.
3. Then you will experience true peace.
4. That peace will guard your heart and mind.

Those are some perfect instructions of how to live in this season of fear and uncertainty.

We believe that the gospel of Jesus is what we need for eternal salvation and also for how to live in the here and now. We need the power of the resurrection for every single day on this earth. We want the nations and our neighborhoods to experience that message of hope.

Here are three ways you can join in that:

• Be part of our Livestream Worship Service tomorrow morning at 9:30am where we will hear from missionaries around the world about how the Coronavirus is impacting their ministry - both challenges and opportunities. We will also be encouraged for how we can be missionaries in our neighborhoods to bring that “peace which exceeds anything we can understand” to all of the people in our lives. • Begin to reach out to your neighbors about ways you can serve them. Sign up to join our neighbor volunteer task force and respond to needs from our community and check out a simple card you can print out and share with your neighbor at calvarylife.org/help
   
• Begin reaching out with invitations to our online Easter service on April 12 to invite your friends, neighbors, family, co-workers, classmates and loved ones. This is a truly unprecedented time where we believe that more people than ever will be part of our Easter service, since we need the hope and peace that only the power of the resurrection can bring. Plus, they’ll be more likely to turn on the TV then drive all the way to a church they’ve never been to before.

So as Ephesians 5:16 says, let’s make the most of every opportunity and see the Holy Spirit bring people to salvation and new life in Christ this Resurrection Sunday!
