Pastoral Update: Wonderful News!

5/30/24 | The Weekly | by Eric Wakeling

    Dear Calvary Family,

I have some wonderful news to share with all of you regarding raising funds toward the Forward in Faith projects as well as an update on the votes we took during our annual meeting last Sunday. Thank you for your great generosity in this season.

We now have $1,800,000 given to date and unfulfilled pledges of $1,000,000 so we are at $2.8 million out of $3.3 million for the Forward in Faith campaign. This total is representative of the pledges and gifts of about 250 individuals and families over the past 10 months. We are excited that we now have enough cash to be able to pay for the air conditioning without having to go into any debt. We will work on moving forward with some of the other projects as the Phase Two initiative passed in the vote last Sunday at about 88%. You can still make a commitment or find out more at CalvaryLife.org/Forward.

All six of the Elder nominees passed with very high percentages as well. They will start their 3-year terms on July 1, 2024 including new Elders Gregg Angier, Antelmo Bustos, John Norton and Todd Yates and renewing Elders Greg Clarke and Steve Esser.

In regards to the General and Reach funds, we received a large gift this past weekend which will allow us to cut the budget goal deficit in half of our General Ministry and Reach Missions funds. Please keep praying both prayers of gratitude and for God to provide the remaining $500,000 toward our Forward in Faith goal and for our General and Reach giving to continue in a positive direction. I would love to be able to pay our staff a more livable wage for Orange County while continuing to offer the variety of ministry opportunities to all of you. This simply requires more ongoing giving as God supplies and guides. You can read more about biblical giving and set up your account for making contributions at CalvaryLife.org/Give.

Praise God for all he has done in our lives and in our church this year!

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
    Eric Wakeling
